Abstract

The Renaissance period, spanning roughly from the 14th to the 17th centuries, marks a significant transformation in art, characterized by a renewed focus on humanism, nature, and religious themes. One of the key elements that artists of the time employed to convey deeper meanings was color symbolism. This paper explores the role of color in Renaissance paintings, examining how various hues were not only used for aesthetic appeal but also carried specific symbolic meanings that added layers of interpretation to the artwork. By analyzing prominent works of the Renaissance, this paper seeks to highlight the multifaceted role of color in communicating social, religious, and philosophical ideas
