Abstract

This paper explores the role of emotional intelligence (EI) in conflict resolution within the workplace. Emotional intelligence, which includes self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, and relationship management, is essential for effectively managing and resolving interpersonal conflicts. Employees with high EI are more adept at navigating emotionally charged situations, employing strategies such as negotiation, compromise, and active listening to address disagreements constructively. Additionally, EI fosters better team dynamics by promoting trust, empathy, and communication, which are crucial for collaboration. The paper further examines the impact of emotionally intelligent leadership on conflict resolution, highlighting the ability of leaders to model positive conflict management behaviors and foster a harmonious organizational culture. Overall, emotional intelligence plays a critical role in improving conflict resolution outcomes, enhancing workplace performance, and maintaining healthy relationships within teams.
